Dual Credit vs. Early Admission
Students interested in enrolling in Dual Credit status should be a junior or senior in a public high school, locally chartered and state chartered charter school, state-supported school, or bureau of Indian education-funded high school whose school district has a Statewide Dual Credit Master Agreement in effect with NMSU. High school junior or senior students enrolled in a private school, home school and have not earned a GED may be admitted in Early Admission status. Those public high school students who would like to take college courses but do not want the courses recorded on their high school transcripts, or who wish to take courses not approved by their high school as a Dual Credit course may enroll in Early Admission status. The Institution has final discretion to approve/disapprove eligibility of a student for admission and/or enrollment in any courses. Early Admission students are responsible for all costs related to enrollment, including textbooks. Children of NMSU employees may be eligible for a special tuition rate. Contact Benefit Services at 575-646-8000 or see the Reduced Tuition Program for Dependent Children information on the Office of Human Resources website.
