Prospective Students

Before You Arrive Entering Freshmen

Now that I'm admitted, what's next?

Activate Your myNMSU Account

Newly admitted students need to get connected to New Mexico State's official e-mail system and online services. Your account will allow you to use online services including: course registration, tuition payment and accessing your grades.

Finalize Admissions

Request that an official final high school transcript be sent to NMSU. If you completed college level course work, please send an official transcript from the institution.

Apply for Financial Aid

You may apply for need-based financial aid as early as January 1st. Please contact the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarship Services to get help with the application and if you have questions about grants, scholarships, work-study or loans.

Attend a New Student Registration

All admitted students are invited to attend New Student Registration. NSR is an opportunity to learn about NMSU with an undergraduate student as your leader. During NSR, you will spend a day on campus, meet other new student, learn what you can do to succeed in your new community, and register for courses..

Housing

Apply for campus housing on-line. Also, you can view floor plans, amenities and take a virtual tour of each residence hall before completing your application. Housing assignments are made on a date-priority basis and applying early is encouraged. A $230 deposit is due at the time of application.
