One of "America's Best College Buys"

No matter if an individual's long-range goal is to prepare for a career, pursue a graduate degree or attend a medical or law school, NMSU is an outstanding educational value.

NMSU has a variety of programs to help many students financially, ranging from merit scholarship opportunities to need-based financial aid packages.

NMSU has many part-time campus jobs with flexible hours that help students earn extra spending money or help build their resume with hands-on work experience.

See the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarship Services for more information.

Ranked As a Top University

NMSU is among only 4 percent of colleges and universities classified by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching as Doctoral/Research University-Extensive. Additionally NMSU is home to the State's only Honors College, giving students the opportunity to study with award-winning faculty in small class settings.

The Right Size

Our faculty to student ratio is 1:19 and our 13,000 undergraduate students receive personal attention and feel a strong sense of community and belonging in classes that average 28 students. Just the right size, NMSU also offers the opportunities of a premier research university such as hands-on experience working in labs with professors who not only teach our courses, but who are also on the cutting edge of innovation and discovery.
