Now that I'm admitted, what's next?

Activate Your myNMSU Account

Newly admitted students need to get connected to New Mexico State's official e-mail system and online services. Your account will allow you to use online services including: course registration, tuition payment and accessing your grades.

See our myNMSU Web Portal page for instructions on activating your account.

Finalize Admissions

Request that an official transcript from each college you have attended be sent to NMSU.  If you will be transferring with less than 30 credits, be sure to send an official transcript from your high school.

Apply for Financial Aid

You may apply for need-based financial aid as early as January 1st. Please contact the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarship Services to get help with the application and if you have questions about grants, scholarships, work-study or loans.

Register For Courses

Once you are admitted, contact your college for a course advisement and registration appointment. You may be able to register well in advance of the semester you will start. To maximize your choice of courses, schedule an appointment as early as possible.

Housing

Apply for campus housing on-line. Also, you can view floor plans, amenities and take a virtual tour of each residence hall before completing your application. Housing assignments are made on a date-priority basis and applying early is encouraged. A $230 deposit is due at the time of application. For more information please visit the Department of Housing and Residential Life.
